Diamond Lake Sports Complex is 43 acres. This natural gem was known for many years as the Diamond Lake Slough. The site completed master plan improvements in 2009 and was renamed with the help of community input. Dense woodlands, valuable wetlands and several native species call this home, along with expanded recreational activities that rank high with Park District visitors. Improvements were funded partially by a $400,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Lands and Acquisition Development (OSLAD) grant.
