Tree Donation Program

GIVE A GIFT OF A LIVING LEGACY BY DONATING A TREE!

Honor births, anniversaries, or memories of loved ones and friends in a manner that benefits everyone – including the environment.  A tree donation can last decades and is a thoughtful, distinctive, and eco-friendly way to show you care.

When donating a tree (shade or evergreen) for planting in a park [or on the golf course], the Mundelein Park & Recreation District staff guides you with the tree selection and the planting location.  Your tree donation includes the purchase of a tree, installation, and maintenance of the sapling tree as it grows.

Donations are made through our 501 (c) (3) charity, Mundelein Parks Foundation, and therefore, tax-deductible.  Tree donations can be accepted year-round, but payment and all tree donation details such as park choice and planting location MUST be finalized by March 31 for spring plantings and by September 30 for fall plantings. Regular Tree Donations are a one-time payment of $500 that is collected when you register for the program.  Once registered, you will be contacted by the Parks Dept. to help you decide where your Tree Donation is to be planted.

Bronze Plaque

If you wish to memorialize your tree donation, you may add a distinctive 5’ X 7’ bronze plaque with an engraved personalized message for an additional cost.  We will order the bronze plaque, mount it in cement and install it at the base of your Tree Donation.

Plaques cost $250 and include up to three lines of text with 18 characters and spacing per line, shipping, and installation.  Additional wording and lines can be ordered for an additional cost.  Full payment of $250 is taken at the time of registration into the Tree Donation Program.  If you decide to add more lines, payment in full is required before the Memorial Plaque is installed.
