Youth Basketball League: Kindergarten
This ten-week league is an introduction to the game of basketball. Participants will work on the fundamentals of the game followed by a short game. Led by Recreation Staff.
Youth Basketball Leagues (Grades 1–2)
This is a more traditional league for this age group. After two clinic nights and evaluations, teams will be divided up evenly by the Park District Staff. This league gives children an equal opportunity to learn and develop basketball skills, team play, and sportsmanship. Participants gain experience by practicing during the week and playing actual games. The score is kept, however, standings are not. Kids receive equal playing time by rotating into the game every two minutes. Led by Recreation Staff.
Youth Basketball Leagues (Grades 3–6)
This program is a great opportunity to develop fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while having fun. This is traditional league play as teams will have one practice per week and ten games. The first week will consist of a clinic day and evaluations before teams are evenly decided. Special requests for team placement can not be honored. Practices and game times vary based on the number of players/teams. The score is kept, however, standings are not. Kids will have a minimum requirement of playing time. Led by Recreation Staff.
